I Need My Schedule Back!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love my family......but......

Yes, there's a but. There's always a "but" when you say don't get me wrong.

All freaking week with the hubby home and all 4 kids.......ugh!!!!!

Have any of you gotten ANYTHING done with your families home???? I've been plotting my new book in my head, but I haven't written a word. I am a routine kind of girl. I have always had my kids on a schedule from the time they were born. Being a stay-at-home mom, that's the only way I stayed sane. I have to have peace at some points of the day. I can handle the rest, as long as I get "mommy time". Well, I haven't gotten any mommy time since before the holidays!!!!

The problem is, no one naps anymore. (I tried to get my husband to take a nap, but even he wouldn't;)) My husband worked on the basement all week, so he was busy, and of course, no one wanted to help him. My daughter has had a nasty cold all week, so she's cranky. My boys are bored, so they are irritating. Or I have every kid in the neighborhood at my house. Where does that leave me????

Back on the flipping crazy train.

I haven't been on a computer all week. My laptop is sitting right there where I can see it, calling my name, flapping its lid as it tries to beckon me, but no...... What have I been doing instead? I have been trying to get my house back in order(a useless attempt with everyone under foot) , build a 1000 peice lego set with one son(I won't even mention the direction book. If the finished product turns out more like Batman's cousin's cave instead of the Batcave, it's not my fault), figure out the i-pod with another son(electronic gadgets, shudder. I repeat, shudder) , attempt to download music onto a psp with yet another son (there's a reason I write books, people, I'm not a freaking techy), and watch yet another disney movie with cranky sick daughter.

Meanwhile, hubby's all smiles and honey this and honey that as he wears his toolbelt, cranks his music, and has a grand ole time working on finishing the basement. But I can't complain since....yes, you guessed it....it was MY idea!!!!

Sigh. One more party to go on New years eve, then everything comes down, and my schedule resumes.

Hallefreakinluyiah!!!!!

Have a great new year everyone!!!!!

Yay, I'm not alone. One more day, folks, then we all get our lives back. Oh, shoot. Actually two more days. They don't go back to school until the 2nd.

I know - I'm excited to get back to my routine tomorrow. it makes me realize how good life is if I crave normal days rather than the upheaval of the holidays :)

Happy New Year!

Right there with you babe! 2 of 3 kids off to bed and I'm praying the DH takes a much needed business trip. Hell, he can go to vegas for a week if he wants too.

i had to move our couch so that i would't have to constantly stare at the back of my husbands head (while he plays xbox for hours) and i have managed to tune out the clicking of his damn thumbs. (hee hee) happy new year.

I feel your exasperation. Mine don't take naps anymore either, and the lack of an afternoon schedule has thrown my writing totally off. Must figure something out...

Happy New Year!

Hey Kari--I totally spent about six hours of my Christmas day figuring out how to get music on the PSP... good news is, NOW I TOTALLY KNOW HOW TO DO IT!

So, if you want, we can chat on the real-live phone and I would be happy to walk you through it. It's a PIA, but now that I figured it out, I'm a PRO! And even better, I convinced my son to put on old school songs like Going Back to Cali, and Rapper's Delight so he's buying iTunes music that I LIKE... EXCEPT FOR smack that!

And anyway, I was dropping by to see how things were with publishers!?!? Email me!

Happy new year to you and the family!!

(Don't feel bad; I don't even have kids and I wrote about a page over the last week. I blame my bad back. And laziness.)
