Progress and New Blog!!!

Yay, I'm finally off to a start with my new book.

It's actually part of a quadrilogy. I love the secondary characters so much I just have to give them their own stories, so it's really a quadrilogy and not a series, since a series uses the same character as the main character throughout each book. In these stories, each of the 4 women will star in her own book. They are going to be right on the cusp of turning 40 and finding themselves in wacky, funny situations as they figure out their lives.

I just love humorous women's fiction. I think I'm going to stick with first person for these. They work so much better that way. That doesn't mean I don't like third person. I love third person for my romantic comedies, and plan to write a sequel to Destiny Wears Spurs someday. But right now, I'm completely loving this new book.

On another note, I am so excited. As you all know last October I went to the New Jersey Conference, won a contest, and landed an agent. Yes, it really does help to network, people. Anyway, after partying all night and singing really bad karaoke, that agent nicknamed me and my fellow CP's the Fly Girls. So we decided to start a group blog called, The Fly Girls.

http://flygirls-takeone.blogspot.com

We each have our own personal blogs where we talk about anything and everything so people will get to know us, our voices, and what our books might be like. With the Fly Girl blog, we are going to keep it all about writing. The process, the ups and downs, contests, conferences, workshops, etc. Anything and everything writing related. Jen will post something on Monday, then Barb on Thursday, with discussions from all of us and our blogger friends in between. Then the following Monday Danielle will post, then Thursday I'm up, and so on. So if any of you are interested in chiming in with your views, come check us out.

Jen-T will start us off tomorrow. Hope to see you all there.

In the meantime, back to the keyboard and on with the story;))

Happy writing and reading!!!!

Oh, I almost forgot. Jen-T, Barbie W. and myself got approved to give a workshop at the New England Conference on March 31st called "It's All About Me - Critiques, Contests & More." We also submitted it to New Jersey for next October, so cross your fingers that they say yes, too.

Any of you going? That would be really cool to meet some of you face to face.

In general I'm very organized. Staying home with 4 kids for almost 13 years now tends to do that to you. But as of late, it's taken me a while to get back into the swing of things. But now that I have, I'm so excited.

Are you attending the conference Annoyed? I forget where it is exactly. In Islin I think??? I'm probably butchering the spelling.

Anyone going to New England? That one is in Natick.

Those conferences are too far for me, but I hope you guys have fun with it! And so glad you're off to a roaring start with the new book! The blog sounds great--I'll make sure to stop by!

It's a half hour from my house.

Annoyed, you are too funny. The New Jersey Conference isn't until October. Hey, you said your mom is a writer. You should tell her about it. There will be information about registration and a brochure about the conference on the New Jersey Romance Writers Website. Remember, people who aren't romance writers still attend because the agents and editors accept pitches for other genres as well. Check it out if you're interested;))
