Triple Flip into a Full Layout.....Don't Ask!!!!

Triple flip into a full layout, and the US wins the gold!!!

Bet ya thought I was talking about the Olympic Gymnastics team, didn't ya??

If only.

My poor baby girl. It's been so nice out lately, we decided to swing on the swingset. That's me feeling guilty for being on the computer so much lately, that I took some time out to spend with my 4 year old daughter. Now you have to understand, my daughter is just as dramatic as I am. A complete ham, always cracking everyone up and posing in front of the camera. She's already learned the art of exageration. Hmmm, maybe there's a future writer in her. Hey, I can always dream that one of us will make it to the top;))

Anyway, we are constantly singing and dancing around the house. It's not my fault, people, I'm a stay-at-home wackjob...I mean, mom. I mean she does watch annimated movies and cartoons, but she prefers the disney channel shows and movies that a 14 year old would watch, not a 4 year old. In fact, my husband fell off his chair when a commercial for that new movie "Jump In" came on with that kid Corbin Somethingorother came on. He was singing that song that goes something like "Push it...push it....to the limit....limit....cuz we're in it....in it....to win it....win it"

Well, my daughter jumps off the couch, starts dancing like the guy in the video, and says, "Oh, yeah, girl, that's my favorite song. You know it."

So dear hubby says, "Excuse me?"

And she turns to him and says, "Whatup, dad?"

I couldn't help it, I started cracking up. He didn't find it too funny as he said, "Great, Kari." and walked out of the room shaking his head. I can't imagine what he'll be like when she really is 14. Better yet, I can't imagine what SHE'LL be like at 14.

Afraid. Be very, very afraid!!!!!

But that's not even the point of this story. If you haven't figured it out yet, I tend to ramble on and on and on...... Anyway, back to the story. So we were outside swinging and she wanted to sing. So we sang pop songs and country songs for a while as she went higher and higher in the air. Well, thinking of my hubby, I decide to turn the little 14 year old back into a 4 year old and started to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Playing with my daughter......goood mommy!
Singing Itsy Bitsy Spider when she's high in the air on a swing.....bad mommy!!!

She proceeded to let go with both hands and make the Itsy Bitsy motion with her fingers, climbing her imaginary spider up the imaginary water spout.

Are you with me, people? Can you picture it?? It wasn't pretty!!!

Down came the swing....WITHOUT....my daughter. Where was she ask??? I'll tell you.

Triple flip into a full layout, but my daughter doesn't win the gold....she loses her breath as she lands on the hard ground.

Bad, BAD mommy!!!!!

Think I'll go back to my computer now.

PS she's fine, just leary of singing with mommy ever again!!

PSS I switched to the new blogger and even upgraded my template and I didn't lose a single link. I'm loving it!!!!!

First off...you're KILLING me, and I'm at work. I can sooo see DH's face, and the "Kari" comment. Yeah, he doesn't know enough to be scared yet....

I'm sooo glad she's not hurt. But OMG - I can soo picture it. Be thankful she didn't pull a LuLu (my DD) and flip backwards, but catch her ankles still on the chains of the swing and be hanging upside down while it's still going back and forth! (and yes, i was out there - chit-chatting!)

See, this is what happens because our kids can't go out to play alone anymore....stupid society!

Too funny. No singing for YOU!

Oh wait!! I updated my templates too and didn't lose anything. I'm so excited!!

I want to link more people though. I'll probably have to go beg people, huh....

My boys can't wait to watch it either. And I have to confess, I'm a closet disney addict. Thank God for kids so I have an excuse.

Poor baby! I'm glad she's okay. I can't believe you had the child singing "Itsy, Bitsy Spider" in a swing. You have got to put that in a book!

Kari Lee Townsend said...

Oh, trust me, Gwen. This next book has kids in it, and I've got a bunch of things my kids have said or done that are just too funny not to include while I still remember them. Hee, hee.

Oh my gosh! That 'What up!' part was hilarious--my son says, 'Snap!'

I never would have considered the finger movements of Itsy Bitsy spider--I just can't believe that! She'll bounce back and won't remember this at all. Or else she will, and she'll tell everyone.

I feel bad laughing but it's funny.

Gald she's okay

She's fine. And don't feel bad, I laughed too. Couldn't help myself. Though it was more of a horrified laugh. But then again, we've already established I'm a moron!!!
