I'm Fried!!!

I swear I didn't give up on blogging!!!!

It's midnight, and I'm fried.

Holy crap. My husband's out of town, my daughter has a cold, her birthday is tomorrow (she's 4), I haven't done a thing for her party this weekend, she had open house tonight, my boys (all 3 of them) have had a ton of homework, but football's done thank God, and I've been busting my butt to finish book two so my agent can pitch it with book one.

Ugh!!! I love the excitement, but I am soooo stressed right now.

Not really stressed, but tired. My house is a mess, the laundry is sky high, the kids have eaten cereal, candy, pancakes, candy, sandwiches, candy.... did I mention candy.....for dinner all week. Pretty pathetic, I know.

We go to Florida over Thanksgiving break, thank God. I need the break, but I'm the type of person who can't leave things unfinished. So I went through my entire first novel, made the changes I felt would make it better, and now I'm going through my entire second novel and making the changes I think it needs as well, then I only have one more chapter to write. I want to send it to my agent before I leave, so I can go and spend time with my family, and maybe even plot my third book. Oh, and relax. Wouldn't that be nice?

And the gym? Ha! I haven't been at all this week. By the way, there's a reason they invented sports bras. Ever try the eliptical at full speed? You're hanging on for dear life, going 90 freaking miles per hour, and your bra strap is slipping? If you let go, you will surely die. So you don't let go and try to jerk your girls back into place, since you were too cheap to buy a sports bra. When all of the sudden the woman next to you asks, "Oh my God, are you okay?" You are jerking so badly trying to flip them back into place, she thinks you are having a seizure, for crying out loud. Take my advice, people, and spend the money on a good sports bra. Even if you don't have much to flip, it's still painful.

Anywho, I will check out all your blogs tomorrow, I promise.

By the way, I'm reading Nancy French's book, "A Red State of Mind." It's really good and I will blog about it when I'm finished.

Talk to you all tomorrow. I need some serious sleep.

Sounds a little embarrassing. I would hate to have that happen to me. Do they make a sports bro?

Sports bras are a DEFINITE necessity on the elliptical! I hate spending money on them too. All bras, actually ... but I guess it's a lot cheaper than paying for a lift in 10 years. (I HOPE!)

Oh, yeah. Not one of my finer moments, Drew. And a sprots bro? LOL on that one. And Swishy, after 4 kids, a lift is pretty much a necessity;)))

Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now...phew! It was exhausting just reading it.

Glad to see you back :-)

There's a sunny side to all of this madness. (At least that's what I tell myself and sometimes it works...) But, I'll try it on you anyway... The sunny side is that it is great to be busy. Someone wants your work so that they can shop it and get you a deal! Woohoo... So, you can deal with the crazed frezy your life has become. And as long as you don't pull out big patches of your hair (small easy to cover until they grow back patches only) you should be fine. :-) Now, get to work finishing that second novel, because the other sunny side is I get to read it. YAY!

Hang in there, Kari! Bet it helps to know you have an agent who will soon be shopping your manuscripts...

I hope Florida will be your much-needed break!

You all are so great. That's why I love blogging. Every time I feel like pulling my hair out, you cheer me up and remind me it's so worth it. Thanks all.

Uh Swish... in 10 years, and with God's grace, some kids uh, under your belt (ah!) a sports bra ain't gonna be doin' the trick babydoll!

Kari--did you love typing "my agent." I cheered when I read that.

I was just thinking in the car (On the way home from picking up Ajers from school--sick!) that I would LOVE to have my Xmas shopping DONE before we leave for our Thxgiving trip too!

That would be a dream come true. Oh, and getting an agent! hee hee.

What's book three gonna be about?

Gotta love it when one of the things on your "to do" list is "Finish edits on book one to send to agent," and the next one reads, "Finish final chapter of book two to send to agent"!!!

Enjoy the chaos, good stuff is coming out of it :)

Book three will be another humorous women's fiction, but with a 40 year old finding herself divorced with kids after having given up career and everything else to support hubby. It will be lighthearted in reentering the dating field with stretch marks, granny panties, and ultra support braas, etc. But it won't be over the top funny like Produce with the 35 year old wacky heroine. I love romantic comedy but I really love humorous women's fiction.
