I Have a Website!!!

Wahooo, I have a website!!!

I know, I know, I should be writing, but I just had to create a website.

Check it out and let me know what you think. I linked it on the sidebar, but here it is again

http://www.karileetownsend.com

Do you like the color scheme? What I wrote? The pages I used? Is there something missing you'd like to see? My husband thought the color should be brighter, but both my blogs are bright and I thought this went with the coffee cup at the top and the picture I used on the front. And I'm still trying to figure out the link page. For now I just typed them all in cuz I'm not sure how to do it.

Be honet, I really am looking for ANY feedback anyone has, so I can get this right. And if you've ever been curious as to what my books are about, check out the book page. I give a 3 paragraph blurb of each.

So what are you waiting for????

Go check it out, then come back here and comment.

Holy Cow!!! I LOVE it!!!! It's so you! I love the blurbs and all your pages. Great job! the color is ok. it goes with the coffee cup, like you said. But your stories are funny, so maybe something "perkier"? (but not necessarily pink.)

So now, I'm the only fly girl without one. Hmmm... I may have to work on that one.

Great job. Oh, I like the stars too.

Hi Kari,

Really dig the design of the website! Colors are great and navigation is easy. Only thing I was thinking...maybe decreasing the width of the bar on the right side and making the middle section a little wider? Unless you plan on eventually putting stuff in the right hand bar.

I just found my eyes being drawn to the bar (it looks cool!), even though there was no content there.

Just an idea from a dim guy, so take it with a grain of salt.

Looks awesome! Best of luck!

Thanks Barb.

And Dim, the big bar on the right drives me nuts, but I have no idea how to decrease it and make the middle wider.

Any help out there?

I love it! I actually love the colors. I love neutral colors. And that cup of coffee has me craving a latte right about now. I couldn't see the links page. But the other pages look great. The only thing I can think of that you might want to add is a picture that you feel represents each book (until you make the sales any day now and get covers.) But having an image that you think works would be a nice visual for folks visiting the site. If I think of anything else I'll stop back. But I think it is very clear and easy to navigate. Great job!

Thanks Gwen. Pictures to represent the books is a great idea. Now I just have to find some.

By the way, the only other color choices for that template were a hunter green which seemed too dark, a mauve and red combo which was just plain yuck, and a lavendar purple. I liked the purple with pink letters for the words, but it didn't go as well with the coffee or my picture on the front. I'm still liking the browns the best, at least with that template anyway.

it looks good.

I see you are coming to Natick MA? Very cool..let me (or dim) know when you are coming..we are both locals.

Good luck..remember us when you are huge.

March, I'll be in Natick on March 30-31st at the crowne plaza. It's a Romance Writers Conference given by the New England chapter there in Welsley. It should be fun, and I could never forget you, and I don't want to be huge. I'm trying to lose weight;)) wink, wink!

Thanks for the link, March.

And I know what you mean, Christine. Time to get my butt in gear and write. My agent loves the series idea and wants to pitch it soon. Yikes.

Trish, I thought of you when I created the website. From the time I first went to your blog, I absolutely LOVE the color scheme of your blog;)

Only one issue with the website - NOT ENOUGH INFO ABOUT ME! Kidding. It looks great!

Very nice! It's very cohesive, all put together, and has a very 'coffee' look about it.

If you're trying to get rid of the actual URL's and just have the title words (i.e. RWA) linked, I can help you with that. Or you can look at the code in blogger when you create a link--it's done the same way.

Kari Lee Townsend said...

Thanks Alyssa. I'll have to check that out;)

Kari--you know what I think cuz I already emailed you about it! Great job! If you want some help on the HTML crap, I can help you with codes to make the links. If you want, maybe we can work on it over the phone one day when all the kids are at school...

You're on your way girlfriend!

Kari Lee Townsend said...

Ditto to you, Manic!

And I found out with my template I can't reduce the bar on the right. I'd have to pick another template, but I didn't like anything I saw, so for now, I'm sticking with this one.

I also figured out links, I just haven't changed them yet. I did add more pictures, though. This is so much fun.

So are you going to update your website, Manic???

I LOVE your website!!! I need to set one up, but I'm waiting for cover art (which will hopefully give me a visual theme).

Your site is very user-friendly, and that photo on the home page is fantastic! You look so friendly and welcoming!

Kari Lee Townsend said...

Thanks, Jess, I love your blog. I used www.1and1.com

It was so cheap and easy to set up.
