The Story Behind the Golden Girl Fly Girls!

Okay, this was so freaking funny, I just had to post it twice. I posted it once over on the fly girl blog, but you don't all read that (even though you should....hint, hint;)))

So I found this card and it reminded me of the Fly Girls. I couldn't stop laughing, and still can't, so I sent one to each of the girls and just had to share it with all of you.

And the inside of the card says:

We'll be chasing off truck drivers well into our golden years. That's how cute we are.

You see, I (Pepper Townsend) have known Barbie Jo (Babs) the longest. We've been traveling to conferences since forever. We had our first babies together and lived right across the street from each other. And we were the first critique partners each of us ever had. Then I moved away. We still kept in touch and even critiqued online, but now that I'm back, we picked up right where we left off. Then I met Jen (slims) in February of 2005 and by March, Barb and I added her to our group. She was just too funny and we hit it off right away. I can't beleive I've only known her for 2 years. And then this last October, Jen brought Danielle (Cakes) to New Jersey with us, and the rest is history. She's a riot and fit right into our group. So glad you decided to mix worlds, baby;))

We rode to the conference and home together (about 4 hours in the car). Yeah, I know. The four of us confined to a small space for that long.....we went a little nuts. Hey, we're women. What can I say???

"I need coffee."

"I have to pee."

"I'm thirsty."

"I have to pee."

"I'm hungry."

"I have to pee."

You get the picture. Now normally we laugh, sing, and have a ball. But that's when Slims is driving. She sort of has driving issues. Basically let her drive, or it ain't pretty. Issue solved. So when I saw this card, well, it was perfect. Slims cracked up right along with the rest of us, only she did add, "I'm not your damn chauffer, ladies." Followed by a snort.

Hee, hee!!! Needless to say, Slims is driving to New England, so look out, people. That means we are going to laugh, sing, and basically go nuts. Hmmmm, any little surprises this year, ladies? Don't ask, folks, you really don't want to know. And there will be plenty of pictures, you can count on that.

Happy Friday all. Have a great weekend.

3 Weeks to go!!! Can't wait! Oh, and I do have surprises!! I already picked them up, too. And I"m not telling! I've just got to get one more little thing to add to them. (and now you've got to wonder what the heck I'm up to for the next 3 weeks! - Besides getting something special for our "mascot")

Oh Gwen! There's a costume party, so you can only imagine the kinds of pictures we'll have!!! It will be a race to see who can post them on their blog first!

Now, if only we could find a red convertible to take our pictures in NOW (in our hot years)!

Um Kari, you must be getting old because we met in Feb of 2004 and we have know each other for 3 years. This will be the 3rd year we've gone to NEC together. Well, the first year we didn't go together, but we howled a lot in the hotel room

Rock on Fly-Girls.

Danielle, the ensure comment was hysterical. And Gwen you can bet there will be pictures. Barbie Jo is right, who will post them first. Snort. And Jen.....um, yes, we've been to three NEC's because the first one was right after I moved back! I've only been here since the end of the school year in 2004. It just seems like more;)) I have that effect on people.

And Frannie, you have NO idea....

I'm kind-of like that. I have to drive. Or all in the car will be sorry. But I'm not female, so I'm still different.

I'm just the opposite. I'd prefer to ride and let someone else worry about watching the road. I'm to busy talking and laughing.

Talking and Laughing and flapping your hands in the drivers face. Remember, I give nurples.
