My Agent Rocks!

My agent, Christine Witthohn, rocks!!!!

So do the Fly Girls!

They are amazing brainstormers. I know exactly where I'm going with my whole series now. They not only helped me brainstorm book one to make it "bigger" they also helped me come up with a really cool subplot that will run through all four books and be resolved in the end. Then my agent came up with another cool subplot to weave through all four books. Each book will have its own main plot with supporting subplots, then two series subplots. And they are soooo funny, I can't wait to go back and write them. I plan to do that on Monday since I spent all this time developing those and reworking my proposal.

Then, my agent gave me some great news......

My second book, Project Produce, a wacky screwball rom com, has sparked interest in a production company. I'm not going to say which one in case I jynx it, but they heard the pitch and called my fabulous agent to say they are intereseted in making it into a movie. So now we are "officially" in talks with them about the next step. Now we play the waiting game, again. The movie industry takes even longer than the publishing industry, so it might be quite a while before I have "official" news one way or the other.

But I don't care, it's still soooooooooo cool!

And if we get a yes there, we have two editors who said they'd find room for that book. The only reason they said no to that one was because it was too chick litty and they have too many similar ones like it in their lineup already. So they would need something to make it stand out, and a movie deal would do that for sure.

In the meantime, I'm concentrating on the new series since I have definite interest in that from the same two editors. So hopefully I can pull off my revisions.

I repeat....yahoooooooo! My agent rocks!!!!!

This is sooo exciting!

As for the movie stuff and watching people I know go through it -- my advice is to do the footwork then put it out of your mind lest you go mad from waiting.

I love your enthusiasm -- you rock too.

I am so exited for you. And for me... Very soon, in the near future, I could be saying.. "yeah I know a screen writer... I just had lunch with her and Drew Barrymore..." Okay, a little far fetched but I am happy for you just the same. I'll be crossing my fingers for you.

Aw, thanks guys. And Gwen, you read it, so can you imagine THAT book as a movie??? LOL! I think I'd have to hide my face while watching it in the theaters, whispering, OMG I actually wrote that. I think that's why they like it. It's different, that's for sure;))
