Procrastination Can Be Good & Bad!!!

Procrastination is not a good thing!! That's what we're always told. Well, that's not always the case. It's bad for the thing you're procrastinating on, but it's good for the thing you're doing instead. So what was I doing and what wasn't I doing????

I stayed up way too late last night.
I got up way too late this morning.
I've only had one cup of coffee.
It's raining and miserable outside.
I still need to run to the store.
I still need to put the laundry away.
I still need to clean the house.
I should NOT be on the flipping computer right now.

Why???

Because.......my daughter's "family" birthday party will start in 4 hours!!!

Can I get it all done in time? You'll have to tune in later to find out;))

But, I did get through half of my last chapter in book two. Yeah, yeah. That's exactly what I was doing when I should have been doing all those other things on my list.

Good writer, bad mommy!!!!

LOL...good take on the whole procrastination thing, Kari.

*Bad for the thing you should be doing but good for the thing you ARE doing*

I find myself there quite often.

Oh, when you are a rich and famous best seller they will talk about how creative and driven you were. They will insist you have a maid so as not to be distracted from your gift.

Ahh, procrastination, how do I love thee... In high school, my friend's mom gave me an application to join the proctrastinator's of America club... I really did intend to join it. It sounded fun... unfortunately, I never did get around to filling it out.

I should be cleaning... or cooking... or making my children do homework... or spending quality time with my husband... heck, I should even be writing. Instead I'm blogging... /sigh I'll give myself 30 more minutes and then it'll be time to get down to business. I've got a 7th chapter to finish today.

If you ignore a problem long enough, it will go away. It may not go away in the way that you desire, but it will go away.

Hey, I can add not writing in my blog today and posting your post in my blog then I can cross one thing off the list. Or maybe I'll just link to you by saying.

I did the same things today that Kari did.

Is that plagerism? If it is.... this my way of asking permission

It's only procrastination when you're lying on the couch watching a Real World/Road Rules marathon (not that I've ever done that or anything...)

You did some selective time management to further your writing career - and we'll all celebrate with you on your book tour! :)

Sometimes you just have to take time... I think I'll make that my new motto. I think it sounds much more productive than procrastinating... From now own, I'll just tell folk I'm taking some time to do the things I need to do the way I need to do them, in my own time...LOL... I think we have a spin...
